BECKY A FLETCHER

 

 

 Becky A. Fletcher graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1995 with a B.A. degree in Legal Studies with High Honors.  Graduating at the top of her class, she was honored with earning "Legal Studies Student of the Year."   She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1998 from the University of Florida College of Law, where she also graduated with Honors. During her second year of law school, Ms. Fletcher completed an internship program with the Marion County State Attorney's Office. Following graduation from law school, she was employed as an Assistant State Attorney for the Fifth Judicial Circuit in Ocala, Florida.

While Ms. Fletcher was an Assistant State Attorney, she prosecuted cases ranging from traffic offenses to misdemeanor offenses to life-felony crimes.  During her six years as a prosecutor, she worked as a County Court Prosecutor, a Domestic Violence Prosecutor, a Felony Prosecutor and a Major Crimes Prosecutor.  As a Major Crimes Prosecutor she focused on Drug Trafficking, Murder, DUI Manslaughter, Prison Releasee Reoffender and 10/20/Life Firearms cases.  She became certified in Firearms Prosecution. In 2001, Ms. Fletcher was promoted to a supervisory position where she supervised other prosecutors, paralegals and secretaries. 

During her career as a prosecutor and as a defense attorney, Ms. Fletcher has handled hundreds of cases and has litigated in excess of 60 jury trials to verdict. 

In January 2004, she left the State Attorney's Office and became a partner with this firm. Ms. Fletcher is a member of the Florida Bar, a member of the Marion County Bar Association and an officer of the Marion County Assocation of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She is also licensed to practice in the Middle District of Florida Federal Courts.
